We then have freneticZ, z2x and Wave The Flag, the teams which took the second place in TS, BM and CTF respectively. Aera and Hash, are invited as well, taking the third place in TS and CTF. Completing the list is the team Gore, as winner of the second division of TS.
How can I follow the exciting games ?

You will be able to watch the streams live directly on your favourite website tv.urbanterror.info or if prefered on the UZ twitch channel. Be aware of the streams and GTV's instantly via the warbot on #urbanterror IRC, or on #UrT-TV you will even have the possibility to see the upcoming events. If you're not familiar with IRC, you can simply follow the Twitch TV channel to get mailed whenever it will be live.
After the recent success of the improved Head-Up Display (HUD) we thought it would be a good time to update the User Interface menus as well.
Updating the menus is a huge project. We received a lot of great submissions from community members, and Frozen Sand artists want to focus their work on Urban Terror HD. Therefore we decided to make the menu files open-source so anyone can participate in updating them.
The menus files are stored on our public Github repository. You are free to fork the repository and send us pull requests so we can review your changes and approve them. When fully finished, the menus will be implemented into a new version of Urban Terror 4.
Please note that the menus style must respect the "Urban Terror theme", ie. dark theme, background grids... If you have any question please contact Barbatos for more information.
Warning: Be aware that the menu icons and images are included on the github repository but cannot be modified due to copyright issues. If you want to update them, you will need to create completely new ones.
And we are back folks! Firstly, let us apologize for the long downtime. It has been quite a mission to restore services. As we know, you all like a good nerdgasm story, so let's get right to it!
The Event
Sometime around Saturday night, while RaideR was "Busy" with .. well .. let's not go there. Our primary database server suffered a HD failure. This in itself would not be too bad, however, at the exact same time our CDN failed. For those who know, running mysql from a single disc, as well as everything else, basically killed the whole server.
The bring it on moment
Okay ... so when your man bits have basically been sliced off it's time to grow (or in our case upgrade) your set of balls. We are pleased to announce that we have invested in a new set of servers costing in the region of 2,000 Euros for a whole year to continue supporting our "Legacy" version 4.2. To put this into perspective we now use the following "Beasts" to run UrbanTerror.
As you can see, we have put provisions in place so that even with a disc failure our servers are MORE than capable of recovering without any down time.
The Migration
Evilelf worked hard to move our physical server to the new Virtual Environment, which took some serious Master Level Geakery. But after just a few days, we had our "Clone Server" in our VM environment. Please send all cookies to evilelf in the attached forum thread.
The Deployment
RaideR then took over the works to complete the alterations needed for the CMS to work in the new environment, after just a night, everything was recoded, reset and pushed live. Please feel free to give RaideR your kind beers in the attached forum thread.
The Continued Development...
FrozenSand are committed to Urban Terror and its community, we take its services and operations very seriously and you have our apologies that it took us this long to restore the game, so please take all your cookies and beers back, have them yourself for your patience and support.
We're excited to announce today the 4.2.021 release of Urban Terror! Among the many improvements and bug fixes, we decided to rework the Heads-up Display (HUD) to give it a more modern look. Do not hesitate to comment on this thread.
We also had a lot of requests and concept submissions for a rework of the User Interface (UI), therefore we decided to make the menu files open-source. We will do a blog post about it very soon.
Have fun!
